CCG attendees examine Stop and Search powers, Use of Force, Hate Crime reports and concerns specific to that local area. A CCG is chaired by a Chief Inspector in that area, and supported administratively by Cheshire Constabulary.

There are nine LPUs in Cheshire. Each has a CCG:

• Chester
• Congleton
• Crewe
• Ellesmere Port
• Macclesfield
• Northwich
• Runcorn
• Warrington
• Widnes

Chief Inspector Simon Meegan said:

"Community Cohesion Groups demonstrate how much more can be achieved by working together.

"I’ve been involved with the groups at Northwich and Warrington over the last five years and we have a diverse representation that allows discussion, questions and challenge as well as discovering more about your local police service and the work that we do within our communities.

"We’ve worked together on many initiatives, including tackling hate crime, to make our areas safer. New members are always very welcome."
