Through the Community Cashback Fund, the Commissioner invests money seized from criminals back into communities, and gives them a say over how it is spent.
The Community Cashback Fund is a new fund established by the Commissioner for the 2022/23 financial year.
The principle of this fund is that money is spent by the community, for the community, in the community.
Each of Cheshire's nine Local Policing Units will be allocated £10,000 from a pot of money that has been seized from criminals.
After an initial 'Community Conversation' event in each area, local people and community groups will be able to bid for funding to support a project they are proposing, and the local community will be able to vote on which projects go ahead.
This page will be updated as the Fund progresses, so keep checking back for news about Community Conversations and examples of how the Community Cashback Fund has improved areas across Cheshire.
Keep an eye out for news about your Community Conversation and make sure you get involved. You can sign up to the Commissioner's Newsletter and Cheshire Police Alert here, where news about your local Community Conversation will be shared.
