Call Management Auditor

A Call Management Auditor is a volunteer who helps the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) check how well Cheshire Constabulary answers and handles calls from the public.

As a Call Management Auditor you would:

• Listen to a mix of emergency (999) and non-emergency (101) calls that people make to Cheshire Police.
• Check a sample of calls each month to see if they were handled in a way that meets public expectations. For example, whether the call was answered professionally, politely and efficiently.
• Record the audit results, so they can be reviewed by the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s (PCC) team and the police’s Force Control management team, so they can be confident services are working well and can improve where needed.

The audits are held every three weeks. They help the PCC understand whether the call handling standards are high and if the public are being well-served when they contact the police.

Who can be a volunteer?

People who are over 18, who live in Cheshire are welcome to apply. You don’t need policing experience, just an interest in helping make sure police services are effective and accountable.

This role gives everyday people a chance to help improve public services by making sure Cheshire Constabulary’s call handling is professional, respectful and meeting the needs of residents who contact them for help
