Joint Audit Advisory Committee members

Applications are open for Joint Audit Advisory Committee (JAAC) members. Deadline to apply is 5pm on Thursday 7th May 2026.

Dan Price, Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable Mark Roberts are looking to appoint new members of the Joint Audit Advisory Committee (JAAC), which provides independent assurance around the governance and financial arrangements of the Constabulary and Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

While it is not a scrutiny function, the JAAC supports good governance and strong financial management and advise the Commissioner and Chief Constable directly. Members must have a good understanding of risk management, governance, audit and financial controls and the annual accounts. A flat rate allowance of £1,500 per annum is paid to JAAC members, however, if you are an employee of an organisation and receive payment from your employer for time spent in JAAC meetings, an allowance will not be paid but expenses will be paid in line with the Constabulary’s travel and subsistence policy. The closing date for applications is 5pm on 7th May 2026. Shortlisting will take place the following week and interviews are planned to be held virtually on 22nd May 2026.
