The following statement has been issued by Dan Price, Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner on 29th April 2026 at 4pm.
A significant police operation was launched this morning in Crewe.
As Cheshire’s Police & Crime Commissioner and the public’s voice in policing, I want to thank our officers, staff and the wider public sector in planning and carrying out this complex operation. This has so far led to a number of arrests.
I totally get that an operation of this size, relating to allegations of modern-day slavery, forced marriage, and sexual offences may concern residents, especially those living nearby. This is a live investigation and I hope the increased policing presence will reassure residents.
If you have any information you feel could be helpful, please report this via 101, online, or with a local officer.
I will continue meeting with senior colleagues at Cheshire Police as the situation developments.
Dan Price, Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner
