Digital Media and Web Manager

To support the delivery of the Commissioner’s engagement, consultation and communication activities, to protect and enhance the reputation of the Commissioner. The post holder is responsible for the oversight and development of the organisation’s website and delivering a cohesive approach to the production of publications and delivery of marketing campaigns and events.

Job purpose

The post holder is responsible for the oversight and development of the organisation’s website and delivering a cohesive approach to the production of publications and delivery of marketing campaigns and events.

Main responsibilities

  • Responsible for digital communications with particular focus on the day-to-day management of the organisation’s website, Neighbourhood Alert messaging system, newsletters and the survey platform ensuring digital platforms conform to Government guidelines and accessibility for public sector websites.
  • Develop and deliver an effective multi-media communications service and maximise the use of audio and visual opportunities, developing innovative ways of communication.
  • Support and develop innovative communications, publications, projects and campaigns which support the organisation’s vision and priorities by maximising the opportunity to develop engagement and transparency with the communities of Cheshire, raising the awareness of the positive work and activities carried out by the OPCC.
  • Support the Head of Comms and Engagement in the development, delivery, monitoring and review of the Commissioner’s communication strategies and plans, ensuring that all activity undertaken is in line with the Police and Crime Plan.
  • Ensure all information on the OPCC website is accurate and published in the Commissioner’s agreed corporate style and promotes the delivery of the Police and Crime Plan.
  • Identify emerging issues to enable the Commissioner to respond in an effective and timely manner, maintain a forward plan calendar and plan digital editorial content to support a proactive communications agenda.
  • Attend engagement, consultation and communication events, ensuring the Commissioner is represented in a professional manner.
  • Support the Commissioner at events and meetings as required including the production of appropriate briefings.
  • Evidence and evaluate the outcomes of the team’s work, as part of the department’s wider achievements.
  • Work with other teams in the organisation and partners to ensure a cohesive approach to the production of publications and delivery of campaigns and projects as well as maximise opportunities to promote positive initiatives.
  • Support staff within the OPCC in the production of presentations to be given by the Commissioner, Deputy Commission and the Chief Executive to ensure clarity of message and corporate style.
  • To maintain an awareness of the activities across the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, anticipating demand, highlighting risks and providing support and assistance as necessary to ensure the office delivers the Commissioner’s agenda.
