What we do

The Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is here to make sure policing works for you. Setting the direction, making key decisions and holding the police to account so that crime is tackled, victims are supported and communities feel safe.

What we do

Commissioned services

The PCC provides funding for essential services that support victims of crime, help prevent offending and improve community safety. This includes specialist victim support, early intervention programmes and initiatives that help people feel and stay safe.

Community funding and grants

Through grants and community funding, the PCC invests in projects that make a real difference – whether that’s youth programmes, community projects or local organisations working to reduce crime – helping communities across the county to thrive.

Partnerships, networks and justice boards

The PCC brings together councils, charities, the NHS, the criminal justice system and other partners to address the causes of crime and strengthen support for those affected.

Collaboration is key to building safer, more resilient communities.

Police and Crime Plan and annual report

The PCC has to publish a Police and Crime Plan which sets the strategic direction for Cheshire Constabulary.

They also have to produce a yearly Annual Report which outlines the progress made against the Plan.

Performance and scrutiny

A crucial part of the PCC’s role is monitoring police performance. They challenge where improvements are needed and support positive progress to ensure the police are delivering a service that meets public expectations.
