Local Criminal Justice Board

The Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) chairs the Local Criminal Justice Board (LCJB) which helps to support joint working and improve services.

The Local Criminal Justice Board (LCJB) is a group that brings together senior members of the main organisations involved in the criminal justice system in Cheshire. The aim is to work closely together so people in Cheshire get better, joined-up services. Doing this in a way that’s as efficient as possible.

What the Board does

The LCJB helps local partners coordinate their work, share information and plan together so that the justice system works well for everyone – including police, courts, prison services, probation and support services.

Who’s involved?

The Board includes a senior representative from a wide range of organisations who all play a part in the criminal justice system. These include:

What the Board focuses on?

Each year, the Board agrees a set of priority areas to focus on. These include:

  • Reducing reoffending – helping people to stop returning to crime
  • Addressing disprorportionality – making sure everyone is treated fairly
  • Supporting victims and witnesses – improving their experience of the criminal justice system
