Legally Qualified Persons

Applications are open for Legally Qualified Persons The closing date for completed applications is 12 noon on Wednesday 27th May 2026. Interviews will take place on 10th, 11th and 12th June 2026.

The Police and Crime Commissioners for Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside are seeking to recruit Legally Qualified Persons who will be required to advise on Police Misconduct Panels for the Police Forces in the North West Region. These Panels hear gross misconduct cases for police officers, below the rank of Superintendent.

Applications are sought from qualified lawyers who can demonstrate integrity and independence of mind, commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, sound judgement and an objective approach to issues presented.

Candidates must be able to satisfy the appointment eligibility condition, (Section 50 of the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007) for the duration of the term of office.
