Police and Crime Plan and annual report

One of the main responsibilities of the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is to write a Police and Crime Plan setting the strategic direction of Cheshire Constabulary.

Police and Crime Plan

The Police and Crime Plan is one of the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s (PCC) main responsibilities. It’s a clear document that sets out:

  • What matters most to local people
  • How Cheshire should be policed
  • The priorities for Cheshire Constabulary

The Plan is based on what residents and communities have told the Commissioner about their priorities and concerns. It represents the public’s voice on safety in Cheshire.

The Plan also explains how the PCC will ensure the Chief Constable to make sure those priorities are acted on and delivered by Cheshire Constabulary.

Annual Report

Every year, the PCC publishes an annual report. This is a summary of:

  • What’s been happening in the past year
  • How work is progressing against the Police and Crime Plan
  • What’s being done to deliver the Plan’s priorities

The reports helps the public, partners and decision makers see how things are going and whether the Plan’s goals are being met.

Why it matters

The Police and Crime Plan and Annual report makes sure that:

  • The public’s views are at the centre of policing priorities
  • Cheshire Constabulary has clear direction and accountability
  • Progress is tracked and shared openly with the community

This way communities can see what’s being done to keep them safe and understand the PCC is working on their behalf.
