Publication Scheme

In addition to the general right of access given to individuals under the Freedom of Information Act, and the information published by order of the Specified Information Order, the Commissioner is required to adopt, implement and maintain a Publication Scheme, which is based on classes of information that have been defined by the Information Commissioner.

Publication Schemes are intended to encourage organisations to publish more information proactively and to develop a greater culture of openness, and enables the public to access information readily, without recourse to Freedom of Information requests.

This Publication Scheme makes information available to the public as part of the Commissioner’s normal business activities and is designed to inform the public of information that we ordinarily publish or intend to publish.

The Commissioner is a data controller registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under the registration reference Z3466647.

If the information you are looking for is not available via the publication scheme, find out more information about submitting a Freedom of Information or a Subject Access request.

The vast majority of the information required under the Publication Scheme is set out in the Specified Information Order above.  The remainder of the required information in the Scheme is set out below.
