Public Sector Equality Duty

Cheshire Independent Advisory Group

The Cheshire Independent Advisory Group (IAG) provides independent advice to help police better understand the needs and experiences of different communities.

The group is made up of volunteers from a range of backgrounds and communities.

It:

• Acts as a link between the police and local communities
• Provides advice on the impact of policing policies and practices
• Helps inform policing responses to sensitive or significant incidents
• Supports understanding of different cultural and community needs

The IAG operates independently of the police and is not affiliated with any political or representative organisations.
